"A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live
without love."

"Path Through the Blue Bell Forest" by Jonathan Buckley |
Over the storied mountains high, and
the land down below
Where the green fields smile, and the
pretty flowers glow
I saw there upon that knotted hill, a
blue bell in a window sill
My how she shined, and brought glimmers
to the eye
She wore a elegant bonnet, as blue as
the sky
And when she sang for the very first
time, I knew she would be mine.
My heart fluttered a step to her
beautiful grace
And as my heart raced towards he
vanilla lace
A hop scotch here to the most wonderful
a tune
I bent a knee befuddled like a loon.
“Oh marry me my blue bell
For you are surely a princess
And I could be your prince.”
She didn't take one look or even stare
As she whipped yellow threads of hair
Like a lash to the face, and I full of
disgrace
That my blue bell would no longer sing.
“Oh marry me my blue bell
For I am just a toad
Upon a lily pad made of stone
For I have squandered your beauty.”
She dropped down from the window
As I caught her in my hands
And we went merrily merrily
To the meadow as woman and man.
Over the storied mountains high, and
the land down below
Where the green fields smile, and the
pretty flowers glow
I saw there upon that knotted hill, a
blue bell in a window sill
There I plucked her not from boldness
or charm
But because I was human rather than a
dog.
Quote: "Hath no fury like a woman's scorn."
This is beautiful ... loved the tale.
