Metal Horses

"Cowboy Biker" from Cole's Classic
We are cowboys of the road
Raging forth from the asphalt
Revving the motor our war drum
As we raise our bandannas high
Signs are posted at every pit stop
“Wanted. Dead or Alive.”
Instead of heeding warning we ride
Our colts and mustangs into the wild
Guns a blazing and saddles a roaring

"Man, you gotta go."

In remembrance of Galen Haynes a.k.a. Mr. Knowitall and his Flash 55 brand. I may not have known you personally, but I'm sure your poems were grand!

  1. I remember the days of riding with my husband. We usually rode with a group. All the noise, the miles, the road...great memories.

    1. I've never rode a motorcycle my whole entire life, but I've known a couple of people who have. I've heard nothing but good times about it.

  3. Very cool, and the picture so fits it. I sometimes envy those Cowboys of the Road. I tend to be a real homebody.

    1. I have been a homebody for quite some time because every time I plan to leave on an adventure somewhere, something ends up ruining those plans.

  4. Cowboys of the road. I thinks that's how many see themselves (or we see them).. I love the picture too.

    1. I'm pretty sure it is the most common diagram of a biker. I drew this influence from the Bon Jovi son "Dead or Alive." The one line in it that says, "on the steel horse I ride."

  6. You have certainly conveyed the urge for movement in this poem, Kenn.

    1. Thanks Kerry, I was hoping that I conveyed the message good enough in a limited amount of words.

    1. That is entirely true. Now it needs gasoline... wonder if I traded for something more expensive.
